What you need to get started
Registration is in the app. A few details, then you can request a ride, order food, or send a parcel.
A Kenyan phone number
The number on your account is also how you pay. Use a Safaricom line in the form +2547… or 07…
Your name and email
Add a password, then choose Student or Resident. Students enter a student ID. Residents do not.
A national ID, if you have it
Date of birth and national ID are optional for riders. You also accept the terms before the account is created.

The MOTO RIDES wallet holds what you earn and what you top up. Withdraw to M-Pesa at any time, from anywhere. You can also leave the balance there and use the wallet as savings.

Five steps to go online
Driver registration uses the same Create Account screen. Choose Driver, then complete the licence and the vehicle.
- 01Create your accountFull name, Kenyan phone number, email and a password.
- 02Say who you areStudent or resident, then male or female. A national ID and date of birth can be added here.
- 03Add your licenceLicence number and expiry date, written as YYYY-MM-DD.
- 04Add your vehicleChoose MOTO VOLT Electric, Moto Chap Tuk tuk, Moto Ride Cab, Moto XL or Moto Elite. Add the plate, and the make, colour and year if you have them.

RIDES POINTS
Earn on the ride. Redeem the gear.
Riders and drivers both earn points when a ride is finished and the payment has settled. Open RIDES POINTS on your profile to see the balance, then redeem it for the gift collection.
How points are earned
The fare sets the points. A higher fare earns more. Trips under 0.5 km earn nothing, and the day stops at 150 points.

Parcels
Scoobix Delivery
- 1Open MOTO RIDES and choose Scoobix Delivery. Your rider account is enough — there is no second sign-up.
- 2Choose Send a parcel, or Request a collection if a rider should fetch it for you.
- 3Set the pickup and the drop-off. Add the receiver’s name and Kenyan phone number.
- 4Describe the parcel, confirm it is not prohibited, and pay with M-Pesa.
- 5Track it live. The receiver gives the driver a delivery PIN to close the handover.
Food
Food Dash
Ordering a meal
- 1Open Food Dash inside the MOTO RIDES app.
- 2Browse restaurants near your delivery pin, and filter by cuisine if you want.
- 3Add the meal, place the order, and pay with M-Pesa.
- 4Follow the order from the kitchen to your door.
Registering a kitchen
- 1Register in the MOTO RIDES app and create your M-Pesa wallet. The application needs that wallet.
- 2Apply with the kitchen name, street address, map pin, cuisine, phone and opening hours.
- 3MOTO RIDES reviews the application. The kitchen stays closed until it is approved.
- 4After approval, you choose when to open and you manage the menu, prices and orders.
Peace of mind, every time you ride
See the driver before you board
The app shows the driver’s name, rating, vehicle and number plate before the trip starts.
The trip stays on the map
Pickup, drop-off and the live position stay visible for the whole ride.
Share the trip
Send a tracking link to the emergency contacts saved in the app.
Emergency Assist
The in-app alert reaches the safety team with the trip context. You can also call emergency services from that screen.
Rate your driver
After the trip, rate honestly. Ratings are how we review behaviour on the network.
Licence on file
Drivers add a licence number, expiry date and vehicle plate before they can go online.
The same checks, from the moment you book to the moment you arrive.
Live trip
The map stays open while the ride is active.
Identity on file
A licence, an expiry date and a plate are required before a driver goes online.
Ratings after
Both sides of the trip can be reviewed through ratings.

Match the driver to the screen
Check the vehicle and the number plate against the driver card in the app. If they do not match, do not board.
During
Stay visible, and ask for help if you need it
The ride stays on the map. Share a tracking link with your emergency contacts, or use Emergency Assist. That alert also notifies the safety team.
After
Rate your driver honestly
Tell us how the trip went. Honest ratings help the team review drivers and keep the next ride safer.
